Using a Car Rental in Indianapolis During a Business Trip

Just about two months ago, my boss sent me on a business trip to Indianapolis. Although most of my business trips are only a couple of days long, this business trip lasted for a full seven days (my trip began on Wednesday, and ended on the following Wednesday). While you may think that this must have been an awful experience, I actually enjoyed myself quite a bit.

I think one of the main reasons that I enjoyed my trip was because I got a car rental in Indianapolis. Having a vehicle gave me the freedom to go where I wanted. For example, I didn’t have any business related things on my calendar on Saturday or Sunday, so I asked the clerk at my hotel about where some of the best places in Indianapolis were to check out, and once she gave me a couple of recommendations, I was able to hop into my rental car and go check them out.

I’m not sure if another chance to go to Indianapolis will come up anytime soon, but if my boss ever asks me if I’m interested, I will definitely tell him yes.

Have You Ever Taken a Business Trip to Indianapolis?

If you ever have to take a business trip to Indianapolis, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the experience that you have there. When I first found out that I was going to be taking a business trip to Indianapolis, I was not excited at all. I had done some reading about Indianapolis, and from what I had seen, it did not seem like a city that I would enjoy at all. However, after actually spending time in Indianapolis, I have to say that it wasn’t nearly as bad as I had anticipated. In fact, I would be lying if I said that I didn’t actually enjoy myself while I was in Indianapolis.

Although Indianapolis is not somewhere that I would want to permanently move (but to be fair, because I like where I live so much, there are very few places where I would consider moving), it’s definitely an enjoyable destination to visit for a few days. I simply think that what I read didn’t give Indianapolis enough credit. For example, all of the food we ate there was quite good. We actually got risky by eating at two places we had never heard of, but our risk paid off because both restaurants were absolutely delicious.

What Did You Do for New Year’s Eve?

I hope you had a fun time celebrating New Year’s Eve. Regardless of how elaborate or simple what you did to celebrate was, the important thing is that you were with the people you care about, whether that happens to be your friends or family. Even if you don’t do anything huge on New Year’s Eve, I know from personal experience that as long as you are with people who you care about, you will end up having a good time.

Although my New Year’s Eve celebration last year was relatively calm and simple (but, because I was with my group of friends, we all had a great time), this year we decided to do something a little crazier. We all live in Indianapolis, so we decided that it would be fun to get a chauffeured car rental for the night and enjoy all of the New Year’s Eve celebrations throughout downtown Indianapolis. Because we have a fairly large group of friends, we were able to have a really amazing time at a pretty reasonable price (since we were able to split all of our costs up between the group).

A New Year in Indianapolis

While the title of this post might have made you think that I am going to be starting a New Year in a new city, that’s actually not the case. In 2009, I will be living in the city of Dallas, and that is where I have lived for just over three and a half years. However, the reason that I am talking about Indianapolis is because that is where I will be on New Year’s Eve and Day.

The reason that I am going to this city to celebrate New Year’s is because one of my cousins lives there. Although we obviously live pretty far apart from each other, we have managed to maintain a really close relationship over the years. We talk on the phone quite frequently, and I would say that we exchange a text message or email just about every single day.

Because this will be the first time that I am celebrating New Year’s in Indianapolis, I am really excited about the experience. My cousin is keeping our plans a secret from me, but I know that whatever we end up doing will be a ton of fun.
